What will the winners receive?

  • An invitation to the in-cosmetics Asia Awards: Winners will be presented with a trophy at the event
  • A certificate to proudly display: Official, signed certificates will be presented to the nine winners acknowledging their outstanding contributions

Oliver leads Shieling Laboratories’ technical department, developing for over 250 cosmetic brands in Asia Pacific. With a Master’s in Chemistry from Frankfurt and a PhD in Biochemistry from New Zealand, he has 24 years’ experience designing products, scaling production, and supporting engineering with specialized equipment design. Oliver is also the in-cosmetics Asia Official Technical Advisor.

As the CTO of Mageline and IFSCC Chair of Education, Yang Fan is a PhD candidate in Life Science and Technology at HUST, China. With 20 years of experience in product innovation, he led the global launch of SK-II and specializes in prestige skincare formulation. Yan Fan has published 30+ papers in top journals, holds over 50 invention patents, and led six industry standards. He also serves as editor or associate editor for leading cosmetic science publications worldwide.

Tim is the Editor of Personal Care, the world-leading publication for cosmetic ingredients and formulation, which includes news, views and technical information about the latest developments in cosmetic science. Tim produces content for Personal Care's weekly email and LinkedIn newsletters + daily updates for the Personal Care website and social media channels. In addition, he hosts Personal Care webinars, conduct video interviews and chairs conference sessions at world-class industry events including in-cosmetics Global and PCHi China.

1. What is it?

The ‘9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry’ is an Award presented by in-cosmetics Asia and supported by Personal Care Magazine. It is designed to honour beauty innovators and changemakers based in Asia Pacific who deserve recognition for their dedication to an advanced, beauty, scientific and innovative industry.

2. What are the judging criteria?

Some of the criteria may include:
  • Achieving (a) significant milestone(s)
  • Developing a new product or service that fills a gap in the market or meets a consumer need
  • Making a considerable contribution to education within the industry
  • Demonstrating an exceptional commitment to innovation
  • Working to significantly improve product sustainability.

3. Who can nominate? What are the rules?

  • Anybody can nominate.
  • No self nomination allowed.  
  • All nominees must be based in Asia Pacific (irrespective of nationality).
  • Previous winners (2024 and 2025) are not eligible.
  • The Judges’ decision is final.
