Dr. Barbara Olioso is the Founder of The Green Chemist and GreenChemFinder, bringing over 25 years of expertise in sustainable cosmetic formulation. She holds a Doctorate in Chemistry from Ca' Foscari University (Venice), a Diploma in Cosmetic Science (SCS UK), and a Master's in Food Science and Technology (University of Lincoln).

Since 1999, Barbara has specialised in green skincare and haircare formulation, with a particular passion for green preservation and the use of innovative multifunctional ingredients for product protection. In 2005, she led the development of the first certified organic eau de toilette with Primavera Aromatherapy (now ESPA International). She provides expert formulation and consultancy to brands developing innovative, compliant and genuinely sustainable products.

Barbara regularly moderates the Sustainability Zone and Green Preservation Roundtable discussions at in-cosmetics Global, fostering dialogue on the future of sustainable formulation. Her latest innovation, GreenChemFinder — a B2B ingredient intelligence platform — recently won the 2026 C&T Allée Award, recognising its contribution to the cosmetic science community.
