Nominate the 9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry 2025!
After a resounding launch in 2024, in-cosmetics Asia is delighted to announce the launch of the '9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry 2025',
an award initiative designed to recognise and celebrate the remarkable individuals driving innovation and success in the Asia Pacific industry.
1. What is it?
The ‘9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry’ is an award presented by in-cosmetics Asia and supported by Personal Care Magazine. It is designed to spotlight and honour beauty innovators, changemakers, and unsung heroes based in Asia Pacific who deserve recognition for their dedication to an advanced, scientific and innovative industry.
2. What are the judging criteria?
Nominations are now closed but the judging criteria are:
- Achieving (a) significant milestone(s)
- Developing a new product or service that fills a gap in the market or meets a consumer need
- Making a considerable contribution to education within the industry
- Demonstrating an exceptional commitment to innovation
- Working to significantly improve product sustainability.
3. Who can nominate?
Anybody can nominate, either themselves or colleagues or people in the industry they feel deserves recognition. But as a reminder, all nominees must be based in Asia Pacific (irrespective of nationality).

Oliver heads the technical department of Shieling Laboratories, a contract manufacturer, developing and manufacturing for over 250 different cosmetic brands. Oliver studied chemistry in Frankfurt, Germany and graduated with a Master’s Degree and then moved to New Zealand to complete his PhD in Biochemistry. Oliver joined the personal care space 22 years ago where he now designs and formulates new products, manages the up-scaling process, and supports the engineering team with the design of specialised equipment.

Tim is editor of Personal Care magazine and a qualified journalist with over 20 years of experience in print and digital media. Personal Care is the world’s leading publication focused on personal care raw materials, ingredients and formulations and is read widely by formulators and cosmetic scientists all over the world. The magazine comprises news, interviews, technical articles, and formulations, with input from the world’s leading personal care companies.

Recently elected Vice President of IFSCC and former President of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists, he has 15+ years’ experience driving innovation in peptides, rheology modifiers, and biotech skincare. Renowned for leadership and strategy, he bridges science and commerce, advancing global partnerships and sustainable beauty solutions.
Seongmin (Mike) Sohn

Seongmin (Mike) Sohn is a renowned expert for driving innovation in the cosmetics and chemical industries. With over 10 years of experience, he specializes in market analysis and regulatory compliance, leading strategic initiatives that foster sustainable growth and international collaboration.
What will the winners receive?
