Jeremy will talk about the evolution of retailing online, building on his experience as a disrupter and retail leader, from founding The Perfume Shop to understanding current dynamics, especially in beauty markets.

With the fast shifts of behaviour and the decline of traditional channels to consumers, knowing how to succeed in this market with such players as Amazon and T-Mall will be key to success.

His presentation will cover Disintermediation, as beauty brands go direct to consumers both physically and digitally using social media to drive customer acquisition and interaction. It will focus on Disrupters who often face a challenge of profitability: is their model subscale, rapidly building a customer base, or is it fundamentally unprofitable.

Jeremy addresses channel choice and the merits and pitfalls of working with the usual online platforms; he will also challenge players’ motivation; is it about building a successful online brand or finding the next source of funding.
