Developing certified green cosmetics

03 April 2019, 09:00 - 13:00

Workshop Room 2
Language:
English

Natural, organic, fairtrade, vegan, halal… These are some of the ethical labels that are making their way onto cosmetic & personal care products. This new workshop gives an overview of the ethical labelling trend, and gives a formulator’s perspective. What are the issues when cosmetic (and raw material firms) consider taking the certification route?

An update will be given of natural & organic cosmetic standards, including details of the permitted raw materials, processes and labelling issues. The adoption issues of other labelling schemes, such as Fairtrade, Vegan Society, Nordic Swan, EU Eco-label, Halal, etc. will be discussed.

Case studies will be given of product formulations that have adopted such labels. Technical advice will be given to those looking at taking the certification route.
