Technical Seminars Theatre 1

In the recent years, innovative and challenging claims have been substantiated for deodorant and antiperspirant products. Since a debate about the correlation between aluminium-containing antiperspirants and the risk of breast cancer came up, the demand for aluminium-free products strongly increased.

Contradictory results of studies have shown that the standard test designs do not reflect the properties of aluminium free antiperspirants adequately. We present well-known accepted designs for the assessment of Aluminium-containing and Aluminium-free Antiperspirants as well as a new measurement method via capacitive contact imaging to determine the sweat reducing efficacy of that new generation of products.
