Merck is using the knowledge of three business sectors from Healthcare, Life Science and Performance Materials and bundles it for cosmetic ingredient development.

Molecular targets and validated efficacy proven molecules from the Pharma-development are used and compounds are screened for efficacy using novel assays and tools from life sciences in the context of skin.

In addition, we have 3D and penetration models in place to increase the success rate in-vivo. With this end-to end development process we innovate in our focus areas of aging, inflammation and pigmentation - we call that translational cosmetics.
