Increasingly strict chemical inventories, and sensitization are the major factors driving the movement towards natural alternatives for product preservation.

KOPL has an ongoing interest in harnessing the natural mechanisms used by plants and various microorganisms for self protection. The idea is getting materialized into a natural preservative: We are looking into stabilizing synthetics with natural preservative systems.
