Sunscreen formulators face a number of challenges when using inorganic UV filters. In addition to being difficult to disperse effectively within a formulation, inorganic UV filters also pose challenges to creating stable formulations that have a pleasant application on the skin.

TRIS AMINO® ULTRA PC, a multifunctional amino alcohol from ANGUS Chemical Company, has been shown to improve dispersion and stability of inorganic UV filters in a variety of sunscreen formulations. Dispersion, particle size, whitening effect, and formulation examples will be discussed during this presentation.
