During the last years the skin care market has been requesting an extremely high rate of innovation. The customers are more and more aware about their own needs and new trends, looking for innovative elements that may guarantee high efficacy, caring, reassurance and pleasure. To this purpose we investigated changes at the molecular level in the skin cells after the application of an active principle. As an example, we studied in vitro the gene expression changes, through a next generation sequencing approach (i.e. transcriptomics) after the topical application of one of the most popular cosmeceutical agent, the vitamin C.
