Booster technologies for robust preservative efficacy with benzoates

17 April 2018, 17:10 - 17:40

Technical Seminars Theatre 2

This presentation will provide cosmetic chemists with formulation guidance to improve efficacy for benzoate preservatives by utilizing chelators, glycols, and preservative synergies in challenging cosmetic formulations. Efficacy data presented will include results for formulations of skin lotion at pH 5.5 – 6.5 and wet wipes at pH 6.0. This data will aid formulators in preserving higher pH systems while using eco-friendly preservative solutions that meet requirements for certifications such as COSMOS, Ecolabel, and Nordic Swan.
