At present, her scientific interests are focused on the study of the factors associated with the extreme longevity of centenarians. She has found, together with her research group, that centenarians overexpress pluripotency-related genes. (J Gerontol A Biol Sci Med Sci. 2018). Another of her current research lines is the study of the best conditions for the use of stem cells as a possible useful tool in the regeneration of aged tissues related to frailty (Redox Biol. 2017).
