Emer Duffy is a research professional with a strong background in analytical chemistry and materials science. She was awarded a PhD by the University of Tasmania, Australia in 2015. She also holds a BSc (Hons) in Analytical Science from Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland, and a BS in Chemistry from the University of Kansas, USA.

Her current research at DCU is focused on development of novel tools for studying skin chemistry. Her research on human skin volatiles was recognized at the 2016 Skin Physiology International Meeting where she received a Greentech Young Scientist Award and Best Poster prize.
