In cosmetic applications, Nylon particles are widely used in order to enhance the sensory properties of cosmetic products and as mattifying agents. EVONIK’s TEGOLON® ECO 10-10 consists of polyamide particles that are fully based on renewable sources. This new polyamide grade is based on Nylon-10,10 with raw materials are derived from castor oil. A life-cycle-assessment confirmed that TEGOLON® ECO 10-10 offers high savings in the carbon footprint compared to Nylon-12. This talk will give an overview about the use and benefits of polyamide particles in cosmetics like high oil absorption of TEGOLON® ECO 10-10 and other TEGOLON® powders.
