The ingredient line ActivOil™ consists of liposoluble biologically active molecules pre-solubilized in a plant-derived lipid matrix. Furthermore, this lipid matrix is complemented with an antioxidant combination to maintain its molecular integrity. A formulation containing ActivOil™ composed of a Cnidium monnieri fruit extract in an Echium plantagineum seed oil was tested clinically. Results have shown that this ActivOil™ could maintain the skin barrier function and reduce erythema when applied either prior to or after a chemical stress. This ingredient is thus appropriate to protect the skin integrity and to hasten restoration of barrier function and recovery from erythema.
