At this year's in-cosmetics, Contipro Biotech, the European manufacturer of cosmetic ingredients, is debuting its concept of anti-skin-aging ingredients, where active substances are recommended, after referencing the visible signs, on the basis of aging cause mechanisms. The inclusion of a product portfolio in this system is strictly grounded in the amount of scientific data from in-vivo and in vitro studies, giving formulators the chance to select an active substance acting precisely on a specific issue purely on the basis of quality data about its effects.
"This concept, where, in the selection of raw materials, we interlink large quantities of in-vivo measurements with data from in-vitro tests, enables us to offer customers a comprehensive understanding of our ingredients' mechanisms of action," says Tomáš Muthný, Head of Anti-aging Actives R&D Group at Contipro Biotech.
However, because skin aging is a highly complicated and complex process in which different mechanisms cannot be separated, but need to be placed in context, Contipro's website offers an educational tool that aims to illustrate and explain complex mechanisms of action in an understandable form.
"We have decided to share some of our anti-aging know-how and help our partners to gain a deeper insight into skin-aging issues. But we have not stopped at an on-line presentation. You can also meet our experts at the SID Annual Meeting in Raleigh (US) or listen to them at the Anti-Ageing Skin Care Conference 2012 in London," explains Zuzana Bubnová, Contipro Sales Manager.
