BELSIL® ADM 8301 E and BELSIL® ADM 6300 E present a new generation of film forming aminofunctional silicone emulsions. BELSIL® ADM 8301 E is formulated as a translucent micro emulsion with a particle size smaller than 50 nm. In contrast, the milky white macro emulsion BELSIL® ADM 6300 E has a particle size of less than 250 nm. Both products – the micro emulsion as well as the macro emulsion – are excellent hair conditioning agents. When added to a formulation, BELSIL® ADM 8301 E and BELSIL® ADM 6300 E spread along the hair fiber and form a protective film upon drying. This gives hair a soft, silky touch and strongly reduces dry and wet combing forces. The silicone also reduces color fading and provides excellent protection during heat treatments such as blow-drying. BELSIL® ADM 8301 E and BELSIL® ADM 6300 E are especially suitable for rinse-off conditioners, hair treatments, masks, pump sprays, conditioning shampoos and styling applications like mousses. The colorless BELSIL® ADM 8301 E also allows the formulation of transparent shampoos. Strong and Soft: Silicone Hybrid BELSIL® P 1101 At in-cosmetics, WACKER will also showcase its new hair styling and conditioning polymer BELSIL® P 1101. The silicone-organic hybrid is based on WACKER’s successful hair-styling hybrid BELSIL® P 101. The hybrid polymer combines the strong hold of a hair styling resin with the softness and silkiness associated to silicones. In hair-styling applications, BELSIL® P 1101 can be used as a flexible, film-forming and non-flaking polymer for formulations aimed at giving styles a medium to strong hold. Due to its efficiency, even high water contents do not impair hold, feel and short drying times. In aerosol applications, BELSIL® P 1101 is compatible with dimethyl ether and butane/propane mixtures. When used in hair-conditioning furmulations, BELSIL® P 1101 can help to prevent thermal damage to the hair caused by blow-drying treatments by reducing the water loss of the hair fibres. BELSIL® P 1101 also acts as a film-former in color cosmetics, sun-screen and skin-care products. The product is provided as a 50 percent solution in denatured ethanol and can be used in aerosols, pump sprays and balm or gel-type formulations. Blends with other hair styling polymers are also possible. Silicone Emulsion BELSIL® OW 1500 At in-cosmetics, WACKER will also present its new silicone emulsify-ing agent BELSIL® OW 1500. The product is a water miscible liquid polydimethylsiloxane copolymer and is able to improve the stability and rheology of suspensions und emulsions. It also improves the skin feel of the formulation. In shampoos and shower gels, the silicone-based surfactant helps to stabilize the foam and provides a conditioning effect. BELSIL® OW 1500 can also be used to formulate clear products. In creams and lotions, the product is mainly used as a co-emulsifier, improving skin feel and product stability. Being an oil-in-water system, it assures easy handling and processing. BELSIL® OW 1500 is able to mitigate irritations caused by surfactants, emulsifiers, lotions or creams. Silicone Gum Blend BELSIL® GB 1020 The silicone gum blend BELSIL® GB 1020 is also making its debut at in-cosmetics. The product is a blend of low-viscosity dimethicones and high-molecular dimethiconol. Due to its composition, it combines the properties of low-viscosity fluids and extremely high-viscosity di-methiconol. The excellent spreading characteristics of the low viscosity dimethicones allow a very good distribution of the high-viscosity conditioning agent dimethiconol. BELSIL® GB 1020 is ideally suited for hair-, skin-, and sun-care appli-cations. In skin-care formulations, it provides a water-resistant, but breathable, non-occlusive barrier, which protects the active ingre-dients and helps to prolong their performance. The gum blend provides an good skin feel in skin-care formulations. In hair-care products, it helps to protect the hair fibers. It adds a silky soft touch to the hair and improves the gloss. Damaged hair even regains its natural appearance. BELSIL® GB 1020 also improves wet and dry combability.
