Bluestar Silicones completes its Mirasil® range, designed for cosmetic applications, with two new products: • Mirasil® BRIGHT: Primarily aimed at the hair care market, Mirasil® BRIGHT allows professionals of the sector to enhance the shine effect of their products such as shampoo, conditioner and hair lotions. Mirasil® BRIGHT allows hair care products to meet an increasing range of consumer requirements, such as improved volume, protection against the external elements, long-lasting hold, supple hold, and most importantly, natural shine. On this last point, Mirasil® BRIGHT offers exceptional performance hitherto unseen on the market. Shiny hair: 2.6 times more effective Mirasil® BRIGHT’s performances in terms of shine have been substantiated by independent laboratory tests. Optical analyses were carried out on hair tresses treated with several different hair formulations. The results showed that the shine effect of Mirasil® BRIGHT was up to 2.6 times greater than untreated hair or hair treated with other products available on the market. Beyond its hair applications, Mirasil® BRIGHT is also an ideal component for cosmetic applications such as makeup, because of its high-gloss characteristics (mascara, lipsticks, etc.) • Mirasil® ADMH B100: Based on original patented technology, Mirasil® ADMH B100 is a high performance conditioning agent which, thanks to its thermal resistance and capacity to absorb free radicals, effectively sustains color in dyed hair. Sustaining color in dyed hair: 5 times more effective. Optical analyses carried out by an independent laboratory on hair tresses colored using several hair formulations showed the high color-preserving performance of Mirasil® ADMH B100, further to several shampooing, rinsing and blow-drying cycles. The results of these tests showed that the color of hair treated with Mirasil® ADMH B100 was up to 5 times better preserved than that untreated hair or hair treated with other products available on the market. Proven antioxidant and free radicals scavenger effects The analyses performed also showed a four-fold increase in the absorption of free radicals and antioxidant capacities of a cream containing 3% Mirasil® ADMH B100, compared to the same cream without it. These properties make Mirasil® ADMH B100 a choice ingredient to absorb free radicals resulting from exposure to UV and environmental impacts, thus delaying the effects of aging. These benefits also apply to makeup, skin care (sun cream) and hair care (conditioner, styling mousse, etc.). Controlled consumer safety Keen to meet consumers’ safety requirements, Bluestar Silicones has tested its Mirasil® BRIGHT and Mirasil® ADMH B100 innovations using alternative methods to animal testing. The two new products are hypoallergenic, non-cytotoxic non-irritant for skin and eyes.
